Our speaker will be medical oncologist, Dr Ganes Pranavan.

Dr Pranavan is a consultant medical oncologist at the Canberra Hospital with subspecialty interest in genito-urinary malignancies and neuro-oncology (brain tumours). Dr Pranavan has been working as a Senior Staff Specialist in The Canberra Hospital since 2009. He is the principal investigator of several clinical trials in the above sub-speciality fields at The Canberra Hospital.

He serves as a Clinical Lecturer at the Australian National University and has been involved with core teaching activities of the ANU medical school. He is also an active member of various national and international cancer organisations.

Dr Pranavan will let us know about the latest developments in the treatment of prostate cancer. He will also answer common questions about hormone treatments, including side effects and when hormone treatment is appropriate.
